Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Michi. They are written to be read, not to be impressive. If something here is unclear, ask and it will be explained plainly.

1. Who you are agreeing with

Michi is provided by Ofek Merhav, a sole trader based in Israel ("Michi", "we"). Contact: ofekmerhav08@gmail.com.

2. What Michi is

Michi is a tool for planning trips: days, places, activities, and the travel between them, shared with the people you travel with, and optionally connected to ChatGPT so an assistant can help you plan. It is a planning aid. It is not a travel agent, a booking service, or a guarantee that any place, route, or opening time is accurate.

3. Your account

You need a Google account to sign in, and you must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to it secure. Give accurate information, and keep it current.

4. Your content stays yours

Your trips, places, notes, and everything else you put into Michi belong to you. You grant Michi only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, show it to the people you invite to a trip, and — if you connect ChatGPT — pass it to that assistant when you ask it to help. Michi does not use your content to train models and does not sell it.

5. Sharing a trip

When you invite someone to a trip, they can see everything in that trip, and an editor can change it. Anyone with an active invitation link can join until you revoke it, so treat those links as you would a key. Content in a shared trip is genuinely shared: if you leave or close your account, the trip and its contents remain with the other members.

6. Fair use

Do not use Michi to break the law, to store or share anything unlawful or abusive, to gain access to accounts or trips that are not yours, to probe or overload the service, or to scrape it or resell it. Michi rate limits requests to keep it running and available for everyone; do not try to work around that.

7. Third-party services

Michi relies on other services to work — Google for hosting and sign-in, Geoapify and OpenStreetMap for maps and routing, Auth0 for the ChatGPT connection, OpenAI if you use it, and Polar for payments. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and Michi is not responsible for their availability or accuracy. Map and route data comes from third parties and can be wrong or out of date; check anything that matters before you rely on it.

8. Paid plans

Some features may require payment. When they do, prices, billing periods, and what each plan includes will be shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record and is the seller for that transaction; its terms cover the purchase itself, including tax. Unless the law where you live says otherwise, subscription fees already paid are not refundable for a period already served, and you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals. If prices change, you will be told before the change applies to you.

9. Availability

Michi is offered as it is. It is a small, actively developed product: there is no uptime guarantee, features can change, and things can break. Back up anything you cannot afford to lose — you can export your trips at any time.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Michi and close your account whenever you want, from inside the app. Michi may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm the service or other people, or where it is required by law. If your account closes, section 5 still applies: shared trips remain with their other members.

11. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Michi is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or data, or for anything arising from travel decisions you make using it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Michi in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date at the top will change and you will be told in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Michi after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of mandatory consumer law in the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim there.
